- Students will be able to analyze, evaluate and to react to daily situations in Rooms division operation on a highly competitive market. This course will improve the student´s social and professional competence.

- Cíle předmětu
- The aim of the subject is to obtain knowledge and skills in the field of management and operation of rooms division in various types of hotels. Students will gain knowledge about basic definitions, processes, organizational structure and job descriptions of different positions in the front office and housekeeping. They will understand the principles of yield management, and the usage of hotel statistics.
- Výstupy z učení
- Students will learn how to count the productivity in Rooms division, they will know the main factors influencing the Rooms division costs and price calculation. Finishing this course, students will be capable of managerial work in the front office and/or in the housekeeping department.

- 1-2. Rooms Division (organizational structure, types of hotel rooms, functions of the hotel room) 3. Hotel room (design, equipment) 4. Front office (organization, different shifts, and job description) 5-6. Guest experience cycle - pre-arrival, arrival, stay, departure, post-departure activities 7. Night audit, Reservations 8. Revenue management and Up-selling in hospitality 9. Housekeeping (organizational structure, types of hotel room cleaning) 10. Managing inventory and costs in housekeeping, managing laundry operations 11-12. Planning and hotel statistics. 13. Human resources in Rooms Division (productivity, motivation)

- EXAM (Final mark): 20% Individual Presentations 10 minutes (No show for the presentation = 3 lessons for the oral exam) 60% Oral exam 20% 20% HW readings and videos as we go to be prepared for the following week's class Note: if the oral exam is marked FX = always 3 x lesson (according to the materials of the current year info on the IS)
