Abstract
The article discusses the importance of hotel software, their ties to the operation and the management of hotels. It explains the basic concepts in the field of Property Management Systems in the hotel industry; it speaks about the role of hotel software in terms of each hotel department-level operations, organization and management of the hotel. It deals with the results of a survey conducted among university students of tourism, it assesses the current situation of PMS in the hotel industry in the Czech Republic, it points to the lack of training of current and future employees in the hotel industry. It also deals with specific recommendations for improving the situation up skill employees in the field and enhances the perception of the importance of PMS for leadership and management of the hotel.
