This paper presents results of statistical analyses of psychological and educational data, collected within 5 years (2006-2011), on the group of 91 children, who participated in a specific online program for gifted children, organised by faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. The information record for each case (student) is represented by 151 variables, of both categorical and metric nature, describing 1) personal characteristics, including motivation and intelligence 2) behavioural and action records, including individual decision making records, and 3) particular educational results and learning path. The data processing methods used, especially cluster analysis, proved that course selection (and educational success within selected courses), is of all the studied variables affected mostly by a) all components of intelligence, except of crystalline, and b) selected components of motivation, especially by Dominance, Independence , Persistence and Goal setting. The research did not prove that the course selection and connected educational success is influenced either by TKM or by any of its various components. The success in a selected course seems to be also related to the nature of particular student talent. If the students chose the right courses (courses that matched their nature of talent), they succeed. An individual who for some reason chooses the course that does not match his/her nature of talent is more likely to fail. The nature of talent seems to be determined besides factors mentioned above by c) selected components of creativity (mainly Elaboration, Fluency and Flexibility).
