This article brings some reflections on financial turnover, costs and audience share of major Czech television stations for the purpose of mass media education. Unfortunately, some data cannot be obtained in the required form. For example – some stations use outsourcing, others do not. Therefore, the submitted data cannot be considered as completely reliable. However, the paper shows in practice the ways that should be used to assess the efficiency of the operation of television stations and their productivity.
