Abstract

V originále

This paper intends to examine some of the differences in language use and their relation to formal and informal interactions between people from the Czech Republic and English-speaking countries in a professional/business context. Forms of address and the role of protocol in hindering or facilitating communication are focused on specifically. Also addressed is the importance of understanding underlying, and possibly changing, cultural attitudes and their implications for successful cross-cultural interactions.
