V České republice je oficiálně ustaveno 17 turistických regionů, přičemž některé z nich zasahují do území několika oficiálních administrativně-správních regionů, kterými je 14 krajů (NUTS 3). Tudíž řízení turistických regionů na regionální úrovni je v některých případech velmi obtížné na rozdíl od těch, které jsou součástí pouze jednoho z nich. Na národní úrovni je cestovní ruch řízen Ministerstvem pro místní rozvoj České republiky. Dlouhodobou absenci funkčního systému řízení cestovního ruchu by měl řešit připravovaný zákon o podpoře a řízení cestovního ruchu.

In English

Officially, there are 17 tourist regions in the Czech Republic, some of them are located in territories of several administrative units of regions (NUTS 3). This fact makes the management of the mentioned regions on the regional level very complex in comparison with those which are formed by one individual unit. On the central level, the tourism industry comes within the province of the Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic. A solution of the long-term lack of a functioning system of management of tourism should be brought by the expected law on support and management of tourism.
