Z pohledu českého zdravotnictví význam lázeňství v posledních letech slábne. Naopak jako motiv k účasti na cestovním ruchu je lázeňství vnímáno velmi perspektivně a dostává se mu i určité podpory ze strany Ministerstva pro místní rozvoj, ČCCR-Czech Tourism a dalších institucí a organizací. Efekty lázeňství nelze shledávat pouze v oblasti medicínské, ale i ekonomické, sociální a environmentální. Teprve tehdy, budeme-li vnímat lázeňství komplexně, můţeme hodnotit jeho celospolečenský, ale především regionální význam.

From the perspective of Czech health care, the importance of spas in recent years has been weakening. On the other hand, the spa industry is seen as a very promising motive for tourists, and also gets some support from the Ministry for Regional Development, CzechTourism and other institutions and organizations. The benefits of the spa industry should be seen not only as medical, but also economic, social and environmental. Only when it is perceived in this complex way, can we evaluate its societal, and primarily regional, significance.
