Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
To continue studies of the JCE10 and learn more grammar rules and their practical use in an oral form of the language. To give students more opportunities to communicate and overcome difficulties in pronunciation of "hard" consonants. To study in more details problems of grammatic genders and declension.
Syllabus
  • Topics based on the textbook – lesons 3–4: 1. Family, age, possesive pronouns, visiting Czechs at home 2. Principles of nouns and adjectives - their forms according to their gender 3. Accusative singular, elementary accusative syntactic constructions, present tense of verbs 4. Likes and dislikes, food charakteristics 5. Types of verbs, reflexive verbs, word order, ordering food 6. Past tense, temporal adverbs, selected prepositions 7. Nominative, genitive and numeral expressions in practice 8. People and their jobs, addressing in communicative situations, social intercourse, vocative 9. Time, dates, days and months, birthdays, holidays 10. Question and answer, weather, functions of the locative 11. Revision and final written test 12. General evaluation of the final written test (the most common mistakes, etc.)

Teaching methods
Class instruction is based on active student participation in learning essentials of vocabulary, as well as of grammar rules through particualr exercises which are in each lesson. The rest of exercises is a part of students´homework. During class instruction students simulate practical situations of daily life. These are prezented in individual lessons as texts, articles, dialogues, as well as in the listening programme.
