Cíle předmětu
Objective of the course in terms of learning outcomes and competences on financial issues, especially at middle management level. Knowledge: The student will get an overview of the functioning of capital and money markets, banking sector and other entities operating in the financial sector Skills: After acquiring the knowledge, the student is well informed in the offer of banking products and is able to analyze advantages and disadvantages of individual financial investments in terms of business entity and personal finance. The graduate of the bachelor program can practically use the main banking products and consider financial investments in terms of profitability, risk and liquidity of invested funds.
Výstupy z učení
Students will understand the processes of creation and extinction of money and how money works and what role they play in the economy. Student can explain the basic characteristics of the currency, understand the function of financial markets and what products can be traded and what role the financial intermediaries play. Students will understand how banks work, what activities they perform, they can distinguish bank loans and leasing.

  • Students learn: 1. Money, its origin, development, functions and forms. 2. Currency, its purchasing power and currency exchange rate. 3. Characteristics and classification of financial markets, their instruments. 4. Financial intermediaries - pension funds, mutual and investment funds, insurance companies. 5. Current development of financial markets, world financial crisis. 6. Trading in securities on an organized market, Prague Stock Exchange, a. S. 7. Banking systems, types of banks, development of the banking sector in the Czech Republic. 8. Commercial banks, their products and basic operations, principles and risks of banking business. 9. Bank loans, their types, provision, collateral, repayment and interest. 10. Passive operations of commercial banks, types of deposits and client accounts. 11. Payment system, its organization, forms and tools of payment system. 12. Position and function of central bank. 13. Instruments of monetary policy of the Czech National Bank
