Prerequisites
To learn the Czech language at level B2 (possibly B2-C1).
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
To develop practical use of the language in its oral and written forms through practical workshops, and discussion and presentations. To further learn formal language of professional communication in hospitality businesses, namely in hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and transportation companies.
Syllabus
  • Topics based on the book and other study materials: 1. Fashion design, hotel design. 2. A new job. 3. Essential hospitality services, management. 4. Dative singular, dative of personal pronouns (in more detail). 5. Instrumental singular, instrumental of personal pronouns. 6. Essential of gastronomy. 7. My own restaurant, its staff and their duties. 8. A hotel - its segments and services. 9. My future career. 10. Summary of studies.
Teaching methods (in Czech)
A seminar, workshop, discussion, presentation based on active student´s participation, practical skills in the use of the Czech language.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Written exam test - 75% as a precondition for the final oral examination based on the topics from the textook and additional study materials.
