- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives (in Czech)
- The main aim of the course is an introduction into the main links of the international economic operations. An emphasis is put especially on the understanding of the advantages resulting from the reciprocal business activities between two or more countries and the rules under which such business activities are taking place. The main course matters are: the principles of international business policy and their connections with economic integration, the commodity and service markets, the main actors of international economic relations, actual development trends in international economic relations or business environment characteristics. It is important to make the students understand that the international business is taking place on the everyday principles and that this process is very dynamic. These facts reflect the involvement of the students during the classes – a preparation of a presentation about an institution influencing the international business environment and a presentation of a news article dealing with a topic of the economic integration or international business.

- 1. An introduction: a) credit conditions (presentation, actualities, attendance), b) information sources, 2. International business I. – definition, division, basic terms, 3. International business II. – international trade, specialization, comparative advantage, 4. International business III. – trade barriers, interdependence, free trade, 5. Trade barriers – division and definitions, 6. Economic integration and its connections with international market (definition, stages of the economic integration, its characteristics, actors of the economic integration), 7. Main actors of the business policy – WTO (terminology, history background, organizational structure, main principles), 8. Main actors of the business policy – European Single market (terminology, history background, organizational structure, main principles), 9. International commodity market – goods and services, 10. Actual trends in international economic relation development and a globalization impact, 11. Entrepreneurial environment in the Czech Republic, 12. An international comparison of the business environment (comparative advantage, characteristics of the international business environment, concurrence of the international environment), 13. Institutions in international business (division and function of the institutions).

- Teaching methods (in Czech)
- Individual work is based on a presentation about an institution influencing international business environment. For the presentation, the students usually work by two (in dependence on the group size). The aim of this activity is an adoption of presentation skills and demonstration of the fact, that international business is taking place on the everyday principles and that this process is very dynamic.
