Cíle předmětu
GOAL: The goal of the study subject Information and Communication Technology is to gain theoretical background of using information and communication technologies in the hospitality industry, gastronomy and tourism and their practical application.
KNOWLEDGE: Student will gain a general knowledge of information and communication technology, creation of information systems and their further application within hospitality, gastronomy and tourism.
SKILS: Succesful passing of the course will give the student the ability to use supporting office tools MS Office and basics of system approach for future work with other systems.
COMPETENCE: Student is able to relevantly review and use the created information system. Understands the interconnectivity of entities and is able to work with them. Furthermore, the student is able to recognise the potential and threats of use of an increasing number of ICT applications and tools with considering information safety, and usability of the outputs in the management of accommodation or gastronomy establishment.

Výukové metody
Lectures and seminars.
Metody hodnocení
Credit and exam (practical and theoretical). To get a credit, student attends on at least 75 % of seminars and fullfiles partial tasks within MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Students pass both parts of examination. To pass, students need to get a least 60 % of possible points from practical and theoretical part (oral examination). Theoretical part is based on content of lectures, practical part is focused on knowledge of MS Office Tools.
